Animal Skins and Leather

Animal Skins and Leather are skins of beasts and a leathern material used in a girdle. Nephi made “a bellows wherewith to blow the fire, of the skins of beasts,” then smote “two stones together” that he might make fire (1 Nephi 17:11).

Men in the hosts north of the land of Shilom “were girded with a leathern girdle about their loins” (Mosiah 10:8). Lamanite leaders prepared “garments of skins,” described as “very thick garments to cover their nakedness” (Alma 49:6).
