Lions

Lions are creatures used in comparisons of roaring and fighting, and are included with animals that will live and feed together. A people with sharp arrows, bent bows, horses whose hoofs are “counted like flint,” and wheels “like a whirlwind” are described as having “their roaring like a lion” (2 Nephi 15:28).

Those people “shall roar like young lions,” “lay hold of the prey,” and “carry away safe, and none shall deliver” (2 Nephi 15:29). Limhi’s people fought the Lamanites “like lions for their prey” during an exceedingly sore battle (Mosiah 20:10).

The calf, “the young lion and fatling” are said to be together under the leading of “a little child” (2 Nephi 21:6). The lion “shall eat straw like the ox” (2 Nephi 21:7).
