Javelin is a weapon of war. Jarom said his people made “all manner of tools of every kind” and weapons including “the dart, and the javelin” (Jarom 1:8).
Teancum entered the tent of the king privately and “put a javelin to his heart.” The king died immediately and did not awaken his servants (Alma 51:34).
Teancum went into the camp of the Lamanites and let himself down over the walls of the city. He later found the king and “cast a javelin at him,” which pierced him near the heart (Alma 62:36).
