Rain

Rain is that which the Lord caused to “fall upon the earth” in the seventy and sixth year (Helaman 11:17). A prayer asked the Lord to “send forth rain upon the face of the earth,” that the earth might bring forth fruit and grain in their seasons (Helaman 11:13).

A great dearth came upon the land because “there was no rain upon the face of the earth” (Ether 9:30). After the people humbled themselves sufficiently before the Lord, he “did send rain upon the face of the earth,” and fruit began in the north countries and countries round about (Ether 9:35).

The Lord said, “the rains and the floods have I sent forth” (Ether 2:24). He said that waves, winds, and floods would come upon those crossing the great deep (Ether 2:25).
